527 REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 16, 1996 APPROVAL OF LICENSE APPLICATION FOR TRASH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL SERVICE Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board is in receipt of a favorable recommendation from Code Enforcement for a License Application for a Trash and Garbage Removal Service, as submitted by Mr. Donald J. Haas, Griffin Transport LLC, 750 Wheeler Street, Crown Point, Indiana. Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected the vehicles to be used in this service, and have found them to be satisfactory. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the License Application was approved. APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO REJECT BIDS - BOWMAN CREEK IMPROVEMENTS DAYTON STREET TO DUBAIL STREET - SEWER AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS - PROJECT NO. 95-120 In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested permission to reject all bids opened on December 9, 1996, for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that all bids exceeded the Engineer's estimate. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request was approved. APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS NEAR WESTSIDE PARTNERSHIP CENTER - CURB SIDEWALK AND APPROACH REPAIRS - PROJECT NO. 96-46 In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will repair sidewalks, curbs and approaches on Huey Street and Kenwood Avenue in the Near Westside Partnership Center Service Area, and CDBG funds have been appropriated for this project. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. APPROVE WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMITS In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Ken Zmudzinski, Pretreatment Coordinator, Division of Environmental Services, submitted the following Wastewater Discharge Permit and recommended approval: Steel Warehouse Company, Inc. 2722 W. Tucker Drive South Bend, Indiana 46624 2. Qualex, Inc. 921 Louise Street South Bend, Indiana 46615 Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the Wastewater Discharge Permits were approved. APPROVE CONTRACTOR BOND Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following Contractor Bond be approved as follows: BOND OF CONTRACTOR Ted Temple d/b/a/ Temple Contractors Approved December 16, 1996 Retroactive to December 8, 1996 Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bond be approved as outlined above. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
