4 33 REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 30, 1996 WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works now wishes to take the necessary action to make it possible for the Board, in the future, to sell said parcel of real estate pursuant to State statutes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: 1. That the parcel of real estate owned by the City contained in the following list is not necessary to the public use, is not set aside by State or City laws for public purposes, that the cost of maintaining said parcel equals or exceeds the estimated fair market value of said parcel and the highest and best use of said parcel is sale to an abutting landowner: ADDRESS 123 East Dayton Key No. 18-7042-1649 ADOPTED this 30th day of September, 1996. Jacob, Clerk APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION NO. 73-1996 - PARKING RATES AND CHARGES FOR PARKING GARAGES Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, Resolution No. 73-1996 was approved and accepted by the Board of Public Works: RESOLUTION NO. 73-1996 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FIXING PARKING RATES AND CHARGES FOR PARKING GARAGES AT MUNICIPALLY OPERATED PARKING FACILITIES WHEREAS, I.C. 36-9-11-7 authorizes the Board of Public Works to fix rates for municipally owned off-street parking facilities, subject to the approval of the Common Council. WHEREAS, the Director of Administration and Finance for the City of South Bend recommends, and the Board of Public Works for the City of South Bend hereby finds that it is in the best interest, fiscal and otherwise, of the City that rooftop parking in the City -owned garages be made available to groups at a discounted monthly rate and that the hourly rates be adjusted to encourage the use of said facilities on a daily basis. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, that the following monthly parking rates be established for the Colfax Street Parking Garage, the Jefferson Street Parking Garage, and the Wayne Street Parking Garage: SECTION I. The following monthly rates shall be charged to vehicles parked at City operated parking garages: Rate (a) Per vehicle, on a month -to -month basis $35.00 per mo. (b) Per vehicle, on a three-year contract $35.00 per mo. 0 Per vehicle, on a five-year contract $35.00 per mo.
