431 <br />REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 30, 1996 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:37 a.m. on Monday, September <br />30, 1996, by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and <br />Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier present. Also present was Board Attorney Anne Bruneel. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the minutes of the <br />regular meeting of the Board held on September 23, 1996, were approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ONE HUNDRED FIFTEEN (115) MORE OR LESS, 1997 FULL SIZE <br />REAR WHEEL DRIVE POLICE PATROL VEHICLES AND FORTY (40) OR MORE FRONT <br />WHEEL DRIVE POLICE PATROL VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to vehicles. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />GATES CHEVY WORLD <br />401 South Lafayette <br />South Bend, Indiana 46634 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Dave Holland, Fleet Manager <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />BID: <br />Forty (40) more or less 1997 Chevrolet Lumina with Police Per Unit Total <br />Package, and as per specifications $17,580.00 $703,200.00 <br />Alternate Bid: <br />Forty (40) more or less 1997 Chevrolet Lumina with taxi cab <br />Package, and as per specifications $16,924.00 $676,960.00 <br />THE JORDAN GROUP <br />609 East Jefferson <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46546 <br />Bid was signed by Ms. Peggy Tuttle <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />BID: <br />One Hundred Fifteen (115) more or less 1997 Ford Per Unit <br />Crown Victoria Police Interceptor $19,700.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the bid from Celozzi- <br />Ettleson Chevrolet, 155 East Roosevelt Road, Elmhurst, Illinois was rejected, as the bid form was <br />not notarized. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the <br />above bids were referred to the Division of Equipment Services for review and recommendation. <br />
