M <br />REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 12, 1996 <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT SCHUYLER COLFAX MEMORIAL <br />MARCH <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a <br />request as submitted by Ms. Bertha McCain, 1625 North Bendix, South Bend, Indiana to conduct <br />the above referred to march, on Sunday, May 19, 1996, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., on the <br />designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier <br />and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - 1500 G.P.M. <br />PUMPER - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor, requested permission to advertise for the receipt <br />of bids for the above referred to equipment. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, <br />seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following <br />requests were referred to the appropriate Bureaus and Departments for recommendation: <br />- TO CONDUCT WALK FOR HOSPICE <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Kate Lee, Hospice of St. Joseph County, Inc., 108 North Main Street, <br />South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct their eleventh annual Walk for Hospice, on <br />Sunday, October 13, 1996, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. <br />- TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY - INSTALLATION OF AWNING - 132 <br />NORTH LAFAYETTE <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Michael Bell, Affordable Awning and Canvas, 2533 North Union Road, <br />Walkerton, Indiana, requested permission to replace existing awnings at STS Organization <br />Consultants, 132 North Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana, according to drawings as submitted. <br />FILING OF MAINTENANCE BOND <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board is in receipt of a maintenance Bond in the amount of <br />$5,000.00 for the installation of public walk, curbs and driveways, for the Always Open project, as <br />submitted by Boyer Construction Corporation, 2161 U.S. 41, Schereville, Indiana.
