<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT JINGLE BELL RUN FOR ARTHRITIS
<br />- ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a
<br />request as submitted by Ms. Jami L. Stamm, Arthritis Foundation, 1024 North Notre Dame Avenue,
<br />South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to run and walk, on Saturday, December 13,
<br />1997, on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr.
<br />Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Mr. Steven Davidovic, 1004 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred
<br />to block party, on Saturday, September 20, 1997, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., on Harrison from
<br />Furbringer to Lincolnway West. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell and
<br />carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Ynettie Jones, 1204 Thomas Street, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to
<br />block party, on Saturday, September 20, 1997, from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., on Maple Street from
<br />Thomas Street to Napier Street. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and
<br />carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REOUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - U.S. 31
<br />INDUSTRIAL PARK - SECTION ONE - PROJECT NO. 97-82
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Engineering, requested permission to advertise
<br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will
<br />provide infrastructure and roadway for the first phase of a new industrial park being developed by
<br />the Redevelopment Commission at Brick Road and Ameritech Drive. Sufficient funds have been
<br />appropriated from the Airport Economic Development Area TIF. Therefore, upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids
<br />was approved.
<br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR BONDS
<br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following
<br />Contractor Bonds be approved as follows:
<br />BOND OF CONTRACTOR
<br />Douglas and Marjorie Kinsey Approved Retroactive to September 10, 1997
<br />Midwest Construction Approved Retroactive to September 5, 1997
<br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bonds be approved
<br />and/or released as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - U.S. 31 INDUSTRIAL PARK, SECTION ONE - PROJECT NO. 97-
<br />82
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Title Sheet for the above referred to project was being presented at this
<br />time for execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by W. Littrell and carried, the
<br />above referred to Title Sheet was approved and signed.
<br />APPROVE CLAIMS
<br />Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $935,865.71, dated
<br />September 15, 1997, and recommended approval. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the claims be
<br />approved and the reports as submitted be filed. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried.
