335 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 11, 1997 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:35 a.m. on Monday, August <br />11, 1997, by Board Member James R. Caldwell, with Mr. Carl P. Littrell present. Ms. M. Catherine <br />Roemer was not present. Also present was Board Attorney Michelle Engel. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, agenda items for a <br />Request to Advertise for Bids and three (3) Title Sheets were added to the agenda. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the minutes of the <br />regular meeting of the Board held on August 4, 1997, were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - LEASE AGREEMENT - INTENT TO LEASE THE PROPERTY AT 504 <br />NORTH JOHNSON STREET FOR USE AS A NEIGHBORHOOD PARTNERSHIP CENTER <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning the Lease <br />Agreement for the property at 504 North Johnson Street, for use as a neighborhood Partnership <br />Center. Mr. Lee Cotten, Planning Department was present, and stated that this is a lease for one (1) <br />year, in the amount of $350.00 per month, with an option to renew the lease. There being no one else <br />present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing was closed. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the Lease <br />Agreement was approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ORGANIC RESOURCES FACILITY MATERIALS/SOILS FOR <br />CLOSURE OF BIOSOLIDS - LAGOON NO. 4 <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to service. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. The following bid was opened and publicly read: <br />KLINK TRUCKING, INC. <br />Post Office Box 428 <br />Ashley, Indiana 46705 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Sean Watt, General Manager <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />BID: $249,450.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the bid submitted by <br />Bradberry Brothers, Inc., 20061 West Dice, South Bend, Indiana, was rejected, as it was not <br />submitted on Form 95, and did not contain a Non Discrimination Commitment form or a Bid Bond <br />or Security. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the bid from Klink <br />Trucking was referred to the Division of Environmental Services for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to vehicles. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient.
