<br />RECOMMENDATION TABLED - TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Mr. Albert 10, 1012 Lindsey, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party,
<br />on Saturday, June 7, 1997, from 12-.00 noon until 8:00 p.m., on Lindsey from Harrison to Sherman.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation
<br />was tabled, pending notification of other residents along the block.
<br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - SECOND HAND DEALER
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the following secondhand -dealers license application has been received:
<br />Amos B. Foster
<br />Bo'Nands Place
<br />1312 W. Western
<br />Sale of clothing, used
<br />appliances and
<br />antiques
<br />Mr. Caldwell further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Bureau
<br />of Traffic and Lighting, Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department
<br />concerning the above application. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and
<br />carried, the above license application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office
<br />for issuance of a license.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT INTERSECTION SOLICITATION
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Mr. Mark Landes, Leukemia Society, 1215 E. 350N, Warsaw, Indiana to conduct the above
<br />referred to intersection solicitation, on Saturday, May.17, 1997, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., at
<br />Ironwood and State Road 23. Upon a motion made by Ms..Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and
<br />carried, the recommendation was. approved, subject to an Indemnification and Hold Harmless
<br />Agreement.
<br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE AN ALLEY
<br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as
<br />completed by Mr. Ron Skwarcan, 1019 West Washington, South Bend, Indiana to vacate the
<br />following alley:
<br />The first North South alley West of St. Pauls Court from the North *right-of-way of West
<br />Washington Street to the South right-of-way line of the first East-West alley North of West
<br />Washington Street for a distance of approximately 198 feet in length and a width of 14 feet. Part
<br />located in Rockafeller's Addition, City of South Bend, Indiana.
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this
<br />Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation,
<br />Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. The Division of
<br />Engineering and Area Plan stated that the two homes on the east and west sides of this alley use it
<br />to access their driveways. If either owner plans to utilize the vacated alley, a recorded easement is
<br />required. Also the north end of the proposed alley vacation shall be closed permanently and marked
<br />with reflectors or reflective tape. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made'a motion that the Board send a
<br />favorable recommendation, subject to the above, to the Common Council concerning this Vacation
<br />Petition. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF DEEDS OF DEDICATION
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following Deeds of
<br />Dedication were approved:
