3-34 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 28, 1997 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:31 a.m. on Monday, April 28, <br />1997, by Board Member James R. Caldwell, with Mr. Carl P. Littrell and Ms. M. Catherine Roemer <br />present. Also present was Board Attorney Anne Brunel. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the minutes of the <br />regular meeting of the Board held on April 21, 1997, were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - MARKETPRO COMPUTER <br />SHOWS, INC. <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a Transient <br />Merchant License, as submitted by Ms. Jeanette Winton, 5880 Hubbard Drive, Rockville, Maryland, <br />to conduct MarketPro Computer Shows, Inc., at the Century Center, on Saturday, May 3, 1997, from <br />9:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., for the sale of computer hardware, software and accessories. Mr. Caldwell <br />stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Police Department, Fire <br />Department, and the Building Commissioner. <br />Mr. Mark Bradley, Century Center was present, and recommended approval. There being no one <br />else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing was closed. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the <br />Application for a Transient Merchant was approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - INTERIOR/EXTERIOR PAINT AND EXTERIOR TRAFFIC PAINT <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to items. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the bids were read at the end of the meeting. The following bids were opened and <br />publicly read: <br />SHERWIN-WILLIAMS <br />1220 South Main Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. John Palomba <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />16 <br />-Qty-.
