Washington - Motion made by Mr. <br />Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer <br />Hurwich Iron Co., Inc. <br />1610 Circle Avenue - Motion made by Ms. <br />Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell <br />The License Applications for the above referred to businesses were approved as noted. <br />UNFAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE AN ALLEY <br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as <br />completed by Mr. John Ford, Jones, Obenchain, Ford, Pankow, Lewis & Woods, 1800 Valley <br />American Bank Building, South Bend, Indiana, to vacate the following alley: <br />The south 12.5 feet of the original 82.5 foot right-of-way from the East right-of-way of North <br />Notre Dame Avenue to the West right-of-way of the first North/South alley East of North <br />Notre Dame Avenue and South of East Madison Street, for a distance of approximately 165 <br />feet and also the South 12.5 feet of East Madison Street of the original 82.5 foot right-of-way <br />from the East right-of-way of the first North/South alley East of North Notre Dame Avenue <br />and South of East Madison Street, to the West right-of-way of North Frances Street for a <br />distance of approximately 165 feet. <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this <br />Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department and <br />Sanitation. The Department of Community and Economic Development and the Division of <br />Engineering sent an unfavorable recommendation, as there is a water main in the area to be vacated, <br />and the area in question is a public way. Therefore, Ms. Roemer made a motion that the Board send <br />an unfavorable recommendation to the Common Council concerning this Vacation Petition. Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />
