Catherine Roemer, Member <br />s/James R. Caldwell, Member <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - 1997 GOOD <br />NEIGHBORS/GOOD NEIGHBORHOODS. PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAM -PROJECT NO. 97-19 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated <br />that this project is in its fourth year to assist resident homeowners improve the frontage on their <br />properties. A total of $700,000 has been appropriated from the General Fund to make the <br />improvements and to advance funding.to those who have chosen to participate in the no -interest loan <br />program associated with the construction program. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, <br />seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ONE (1) MORE <br />OR LESS, TUB GRINDER <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matt Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to item. Mr. Chlebowski stated <br />that the tub grinder will be used at the Organic Resources Facility, and funding will be through a lease <br />purchase. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the <br />request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ONE (1) MORE <br />OR LESS, COMPACT SWEEPER <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Division of Equipment Services, <br />requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to equipment. Mr. <br />Chlebowski stated that the sweeper will be used at the Park Department, and funding will be through <br />the Park Department Capital Motor account. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, <br />seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF LICENSE APPLICATION FOR RUBBISH AND GARBAGE REMOVAL <br />SERVICE <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of a favorable recommendation from the Department <br />of Code Enforcement for a License Application for a Rubbish and Garbage Removal Service, as <br />submitted by Meyer Waste Systems, Inc., 809 Wabash Avenue, Chesterton, Indiana. It was noted <br />that the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected the vehicles to be used in conjunction with this business, <br />and have been approved. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, <br />the License Application was approved. <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - SECOND HAND DEALER <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the following secondhand dealers license application has been received: <br />Ethel Anderson <br />Classic Boutique <br />1636 Lincolnway <br />Sale of Used <br />West <br />Furniture <br />Mr. Caldwell further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting, Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department <br />concerning the above application. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and <br />carried, the above license application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office <br />for issuance of a license. <br />
