<br />REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 27, 1997
<br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:35 a.m.. on Monday, January
<br />27, 1997, by Board President John E. Leszczynski, with Mr. Leszczynski, Mr. James R. Caldwell and
<br />M. Catherine Roemer present. Also present was Board Attorney Anne Bruneel.
<br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED/STRICKEN
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Roemer and carried, agenda items for a
<br />Title Sheet; Opening of Quotations for South Bend Parking Structure No. 2 Level 6E and 7W
<br />Repairs; and an Agreement were added to the agenda, and an Amendment to the WWTP Clarifier
<br />Modifications Agreement was stricken from the agenda.
<br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Roemer and carried, the minutes of the
<br />regular meeting of the Board held on January 20, 1997, were approved.
<br />PUBLIC HEARING - APPLICATION FOR TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - MIDWEST
<br />GOLF AND SPORTS SHOW
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning an
<br />Application for a Transient Merchant License for the Midwest Golf and Sports Show, as submitted
<br />by Mr. Robert J. Sayre, 10 South 267 Kaye Lane, Hinsdale, Illinois, to conduct the sale of golf
<br />equipment at the Century Center, on February 7, 8 and 9, 1997.
<br />A representative from the Century Center was present, and recommended approval. There being no
<br />one else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing was closed.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwel:, seconded by Mrs. Roemer and carried, the
<br />Application for a Transient Merchant License was approved.
<br />PUBLIC HEARING - APPLICATION FOR TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - MICHIANA
<br />GEM AND MINERAL SHOW
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning an
<br />Application for a Transient Merchant License for the Michiana Gem and Mineral Show, as submitted
<br />by Ms. Margaret F. Heinek, 7091 East Park Lane, New Carlisle, Indiana, to conduct the sale of gems
<br />and minerals at the Century Center, on August 29, 30 and 31, 1997.
<br />Mrs. Margaret Heinek, 7091 East Park Lane, New Carlisle, Indiana, was present, and recommended
<br />approval. There being no one else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the
<br />Public Hearing was closed. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs.
<br />Roemer and carried, the Application for a Transient Merchant License was approved.
<br />AWARD BIDS - ABANDONED VEHICLES
<br />Mr. Gary Libbey, Department of Code Enforcement, advised the Board that on January 20,1997, bids
<br />were received and opened for the above referred to vehicles. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Libbey
<br />recommends that the Board award the bids as follows:
