117 1 1 REGULAR MEETING MARCH 30, 1998 Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Contract was approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed. APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - STRUCTURE REMOVAL - 1929 AND 2313 SOUTH IRONWOOD - PROJECT NO. 98-35 Mr. Littrell advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on March 23, 1998, to Warner and Sons, Inc., Post Office Box 87, Elkhart, Indiana, in the amount of $8,400.00 for the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Contract was approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance was filed. APPROVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS The following Community Development Contracts were presented to the Board for approval. It was noted that Ms. Roemer abstained from voting on the contract from Housing Development Corporation, as she is a member of the Board: Housing Development $ 85,000.00 REWARD Program - Closing cost/down Corporation payment assistance grants to new homebuyers Planning & Neighborhood $ 60,000.00 Public Works in the 100-400 blocks of Development Broadway in support of new housing construction. YWCA $ 33,000.00 Emergency Shelter Grant - Women's Shelter Program Youth Service Bureau $ 15,200.00 Operations for Runaway Shelter for youth St. Joseph County AIDS $ 10,000.00 Emergency Shelter Grant - operating costs Task Force associated with provision of shelter for the homeless Planning & Neighborhood $300,000.00 NPC - Public Works in Southeast, Near Development Northwest, Westside and Near Westside neighborhoods CANCO (Northstar) $ 45,000.00 Individual and group counseling, located at new Boys & Girl's Club building Center for the Homeless $150,000.00 Architectural drawings which will be the basis for the remodeling and expansion of the Center Grace Community Center $ 30,000.00 Staff support for youth programming at the center Code Enforcement $ 37,500.00 Inspect for code violations in inner -City neighborhoods Youth Development $ 15,000.00 Staff support of the YDC Commission Housing Assistance Office $156,000.00 Mortgage subsidies for low/moderate homebuyers on Broadway Street Police Department $ 70,000.00 Neighborhood Watch Program Police Department $ 90,000.00 Neighborhood foot patrols in inner city neighborhoods, April through December
