1 1 2 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 30 1998 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:35 a.m. on Monday, March <br />30,1998, by Board Member Carl P. Littrell, with Ms. M. Catherine Roemer present. Board President <br />James R. Caldwell was not present. Also present was Board Attorney Michelle Engel. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the minutes of the regular <br />meeting of the Board held on March 23,1998 were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - LICENSE APPLICATION FOR TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - <br />HEARTCON `98 <br />Mr. Littrell advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a License <br />Application for a Transient Merchant License, as submitted by Ms. Ellen Deak, 811 Griffith Street, <br />Osceola, Indiana, to conduct the sale of science fiction memorabilia at the Century Center, on April <br />4,1998. <br />Ms. Carolyn Strutner, 1127 Sunnymede, South Bend, Indiana, was present, and recommended <br />approval. There being no one else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the <br />Public Hearing was closed. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell <br />and carried, the was approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - MORRIS PERFORM NG ARTS CENTER - STRUCTURAL STEEL AND <br />ERECTION/SCAFFOLDING - PROJECT NO. 98-25-2 <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />BRAND SCAFFOLD RENTAL & ERECTION, INC. <br />7337 West 15th Avenue <br />Gary, Indiana 46406-2290 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Gary Renken, Division Manager <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />BID: $145,000.00 <br />AGGREGATE EQUIPMENT & SUPPLY <br />2222 West Washington Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46628 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Rob Jaur <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />BID: $143,000.00 <br />WACO SCAFFOLDING AND EQUIPMENT <br />7540 Brookfield Road <br />Indianapolis, Indiana 46239 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Richard Corbin <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was not completed <br />Bid Bond was not submitted <br />
