027 <br />REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 26, 1998 <br />APPROVAL OF GRANT OF EASEMENT <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, a Grant of Easement <br />between O.J. Shoemaker, Inc., 1008 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana, and the City of South <br />Bend, for an easement as described in Exhibits A, B, and- C as submitted, was approved. The Grant <br />of Easement is in the amount of $89,000.00. <br />APPROVAL OF GRANT OF EASEMENT - MEMORIAL HOSPITAL/SOUTH BEND <br />REDEVELOPMENT <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, a Foundation Easement <br />for the Leighton Plaza project was approved, as submitted, as it was discovered the building footings <br />are under the public right of way. <br />APPROVAL OF FOUNDATION EASEMENT AGREEMENT <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, a Foundation Easement <br />Agreement with the City of South Bend Redevelopment Commission and Riggs & Company was <br />approved. The description of easement tract is a parcel of land being a part of the west half of the <br />northwest quarter of Section 12, Township 37 North, Range 2 East, Portage Township, more <br />particularly described in the Easement Agreement as submitted. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED <br />VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Kathy Dempsey, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise <br />for the sale of approximately fifteen (15) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super Auto <br />Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles <br />have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and <br />the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell <br />and carried, the above request was approved. <br />REQUEST FOR POLICE ESCORT APPROVED - RELIGIOUS CONFERENCE MANAGEMENT <br />ASSOCIATION <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Deborah Hones, Convention and Visitors Bureau, South Bend, Indiana, <br />requested permission for a police escort to lead the Religious Conference Management Association <br />from the South Bend Marriott to the Studebaker National Museum on Friday, January 30, 1998 at <br />approximately 4:45 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, <br />the request was approved. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following traffic <br />control device was approved: <br />Removal - 1 Hour parking <br />1528 Mishawaka Avenue <br />Revised to two-hour zone to <br />serve clients of H&R Block; <br />reverts back to 1-hour on <br />April 16, 1998. <br />APPROVE WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT REVISION <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Ken Zmudzinski, Pretreatment Coordinator, Division of <br />Environmental Services, submitted the following Wastewater Discharge Permit Revision and <br />recommended approval: <br />1. New Energy Corp. <br />3201 West Calvert Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46680 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Revision to the <br />Wastewater Discharge Permit was approved. <br />
