REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 15, 1999 The regular meeting ofthe Board ofPublic Works convened at 9:35 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 1999, by Board President James R. Caldwell, with Mr. Lewis N. Powell and Ms. M. Catherine Roemer present. Also present was Ms. Michelle Engle, Board Attorney. ADDITION TO THE AGENDA Mr. James Caldwell moved that the Open Bid for the Bituminous Distributor be added to the agenda as item 2.B., Abandoned Vehicles be added as item 4B and the Workforce Development Services Contract 99-750, item 5.B.1 be changed from 57 clients to 71 clients, and from $20,000.00 to $25,000.00. Mr. Caldwell made motion and Ms. Roemer seconded the motion, which carried. APPROVAL OF NOVEMBER 8, 1999 MEETING MINUTES Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, and seconded by Mr. Powell, the November 8, 1999 minutes were approved. OPENING OF BIDS - BLOWER & ENGINES REPLACEMENT - PROJECT NO. 99-45 This was the date set for receiving and opening sealed bids for the above -referenced project. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. Funding source for this project is the State Revolving Loan Fund. The following bids were opened and publicly read: HRP Construction Inc. 5777 Cleveland Road P.O. Box 266 South Bend, Indiana 46628-9418 Bid was signed by Mr. Paul J. Fallon, President Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted BID: $2,503,000.00 Equipment: Caterpillar & Tublex Superior Construction 2045 East Dunes Highway Gary, Indiana 46402 Bid was signed by Mr. Theodore R. Cuson, Jr., Vice President Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted BID: $2,482,000.00 Equipment: Caterpillar & Tublex Bowen Engineering Corporation 505 West 840' Drive Merrillville, Indiana 46410 Bid was signed by Mr. Ken D. Thieneman, Vice President Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted BID: $2,304,000.00 Equipment: Waukesha & Tublex Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the above bids were referred to the for review and recommendation.
