REGULAR MEETING JUNE 14, 1999 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:38 a.m. on Monday, June 14, <br />1999,. by Board President James R. Caldwell, with Mr. Lewis N. Powell and Ms. M. Catherine <br />Roemer present. Also present was Board Attorney Michelle Engel. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED/TABLED <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, a Construction Contract <br />for the Southeast Neighborhood Redevelopment was added to the agenda, and a Lease Agreement <br />for the Northeast Neighborhood Council was tabled. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the minutes of the <br />regular meeting of the Board held on June 7, 1999, were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - VALLEY WATERCOLOR <br />SOCIETY <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a Transient <br />Merchant License, as submitted by Mr. James Ferm, 1326 East Indiana Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, <br />to conduct the sale of arts and crafts at Leeper Park, on June 26 and 27, 1999. Favorable <br />recommendations have been received by the Police Department, Fire Department, Building <br />Commissioner and the Legal Department. <br />Mr. James Ferm, 1326 East Indiana, South Bend, Indiana, was present, and recommended approval. <br />There being no one else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public <br />Hearing was closed. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the License <br />Application was approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SCADA SYSTEMS OPERATOR INTERFACE REPLACEMENT - <br />WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT - PROJECT NO. 99-15 <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient.
