<br />Therefore, Ms. Roemer made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bids be awarded
<br />as outlined above. Mr. Powell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - LOT 44. CHESTNUT STREET
<br />Mr. James R. Caldwell advised the Board that on May 24, 1999, bids were received and opened for
<br />the above referred to property. After reviewing those bids, the Legal Department recommends that
<br />the Board award the sale of the property to John and Donnelda Lohr, 320 Chestnut, South Bend,
<br />Indiana in the amount of $500.00. Therefore, Ms. Roemer made a motion that the recommendation
<br />be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Powell seconded the motion which
<br />carried.
<br />AWARD BID - HEADWORKS FACILITY -WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT -PROJECT
<br />NO. 98-26
<br />Mr. Jack Dillon, Director, Environmental Services, advised the Board that on April 19, 1999, bids
<br />were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Dillon
<br />recommends that the Board award the contract to Superior Construction Company, Inc., 2045 East
<br />Dunes Highway, Gary, Indiana in the amount of $11,392,000.00. Therefore, W. Caldwell made a
<br />motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Powell
<br />seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 (FINALI AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT -
<br />CHIPPEWAAHCHIGAN LANDSCAPING - PROJECT NO. 98-88
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Construction Manager, has submitted Change Order No.
<br />1 (Final) on behalf of Northern Indiana Construction, 55803 Dogwood Road, Mishawaka, Indiana,
<br />indicating that the contract amount be increased by $305.26 for a new contract sum including this
<br />Change Order in the amount of $53,247.56. Additionally submitted was the Project Completion
<br />Affidavit indicating this new final cost. Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Ms.
<br />Roemer and carried, Change Order No. 1(Final) and the Project Completion Affidavit were approved
<br />subject to the filing of the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond.
<br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - NORTH PUMPING STATION IlVIPROVEMENTS - PROJECT
<br />NO. 98-92
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Construction Manger, has submitted Change Order No. 3
<br />on behalf of North America Construction, 3 500 West Highway 13, Burnsville, Minnesota indicating
<br />that the Contract amount be increased $21,319.00 for a new Contract sum including this Change
<br />Order in the amount of $6,096,143.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr.
<br />Powell and carried, the Change Order was approved.
<br />APPROVE CORRECTION OF CHANGE ORDER -PROPOSAL FOR SUBSURFACE SOIL AND
<br />GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION - FREDERICKSON PARK - ENVIROCORP
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that Ms. Jennifer Mielke, Community & Economic Development, has submitted
<br />a memorandum to the Board, indicating that a Change Order submitted on behalf ofEnvirocorp, 3600
<br />McGill Street, South Bend, Indiana was incorrect. Ms. Mielke stated that the original contract with
