<br />The bid received from Northwest Studios, Inc., 36415 Groesbeck Highway, Clinton Township,
<br />Michigan, was publicly read, in the amount of $76,400.00. However, this bid did not contain the
<br />prescribed State Board of Accounts Form 96. The Clerk was asked to contact the bidder to fax the
<br />Form 96 to the office of the Board of Public Works before the end of the day of June 7, 1999.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the above bids were
<br />referred to Verkler, Inc. for review and recommendation.
<br />AWARD BID - MORRIS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER-AUDIONVIDEO SYSTEMS -
<br />PROJECT NO. 98-25-6B
<br />Mr. Fred Lusk, Verkler, Inc., 4406 Technology Drive, South Bend, Indiana, advised the Board that
<br />on April 12,1999, bids were received and opened for the above referred to system. After reviewing
<br />those bids, Mr. Lusk recommends that the Board award the contract to Sweetwater Sound, Inc.,
<br />5335 Bass Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, in the amount of $142,500.00, which includes the base bid
<br />of $113,000.00, plus Alternate No. 1, in the amount of $29,500.00. Therefore, Mr. Powell made a
<br />motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Roemer
<br />seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - SOUTHEAST PARTNERSHIP CENTER - INDIANA AVENUE - SIDEWAL
<br />CURB, APPROACH AND RAMP REPAIRS - PROJECT NO 99-17
<br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, City Engineer, advised the Board that on June 1, 1999, bids were received and
<br />opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell recommends that
<br />the Board award the contract to Niles Concrete Sawing and Construction, 2580 East Detroit Road,
<br />Niles, Michigan in the amount of $108,782.00. Therefore, Ms. Roemer made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Powell seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BIDS - ABANDONED VEHICLES
<br />Mr Gary Libbey, Code Enforcement, advised the Board that on June 1, 1999, bids were received and
<br />opened for the above referred to vehicles. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Libbey recommends that
<br />the Board award the bids to the highest bidders as follows:
