0 a <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 10. 1999 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:37 a.m. on Monday, May 10, <br />1999, by Board President James R. Caldwell, with Mr. Lewis N. Powell present. Board Member M. <br />Catherine Roemer was not present. Also present was Board Attorney Michelle Engel. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED/REMOVED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the following items <br />were added/removed from the agenda: <br />- Resolution No. 24-1999 - Towing Resolution -Removed from agenda <br />- Added to Agenda - Request to Advertise for the Receipt of Bids - Laurel Road Sewer and Water - <br />Project No. 98-71 <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the minutes of the <br />regular meeting of the Board held on May 3, 1999, were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - DESALLE PROMOTIONS <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning an <br />Application for a Transient Merchant License, as submitted by Mr. Don DeSalle, 5106 Knollwood, <br />Anderson, Indiana, to conduct the sale of toys, on May 23, 1999, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., <br />at the Century Center. Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by <br />the Police Department, Fire Department and the Building Commissioner. <br />Mr. Mark Bradley, Century Center, was present, and recommended approval. There being no one <br />else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing was closed. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the License <br />Application for a Transient Merchant was approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) MORE OR LESS, 3/4 TON EXTENDED CAB CHASSIS <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to equipment. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. No bids were received by the Board of Public Works for <br />this item. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - JANITORIAL SUPPLIES <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to items. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />STANZ CHEESE <br />1840 North Commerce Drive <br />South Bend, Indiana 46624 <br />Bid was signed by Ms. Shirley Geraghty <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />BID: <br />Tissues and Paper Towels <br />1 (R) 100 2 Ply Toilet Tissue Encore #702 $28.35 <br />4.5 x 4.5, 500 sheets/roll <br />Standard Size Rolls <br />96 rolls/case <br />2 (R) 120 2 Ply Toilet Tissue Encore #791 $23.35 <br />
