REGULAR -MEETING MARCH 15, 1999 REQUEST TO PURCHASE PROPERTY AT 1036 LINCOLNWAY EAST - OLD FIRE STATION NUMBER 12 The Clerk stated that there has been some interest from two (2) individuals to purchase this City - owned property. The Board had previously recommended that the property remain with the City of South Bend. Mr. Powell stated that the Division of Engineering had no use for this property, and maybe could be purchased if no other City department could use the facility. Mr. Caldwell made a motion to table the request, pending review by other departments. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the following traffic control device was approved: NEW INSTALLATION: Residential Parking Zone Signs LOCATION: 2400 Block of Erskine REMARKS: Requirements satisfy Municipal Code Chapter 20, Article 10 APPROVE CONTRACTOR BOND Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following Contractor Bond be approved as follows: `BOND OF CONTRACTOR V Finer Finish, Inc. Approved March 15, 1999 Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bond be approved as outlined above. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following Certificate of Insurance was accepted for filing: Meijer, Inc. Post Office Box 3280 Grand Rapids, MI 49544-3280 APPROVE TITLE SHEETS - SOUTHFIELD DEERFIELD TRAIL PHASE II - SOUTHFIELD RIDGEIRAIL. PHASE II - SOUTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD REDEVELOPMENT SECTION II PHASE I Mr. Caldwell advised that the Title Sheets for the above referred to projects were being presented at this time for execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the above referred to Title Sheets were approved and signed. APPROVE CLAIMS Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $2,270,561.38 and ,recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, WDS of Northern Indiana, submitted two (2) lists containing claims in the amount of $227,817.85 and $141,090.56 and recommended approval. Mr. Ken Szulczyk, St. Joseph Housing Consortium, submitted claims and recommended approval. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the claims be approved and the reports as submitted be filed. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried.
