REGULAR -MEETING MARCH 15, 1999 <br />REQUEST TO PURCHASE PROPERTY AT 1036 LINCOLNWAY EAST - OLD FIRE STATION <br />NUMBER 12 <br />The Clerk stated that there has been some interest from two (2) individuals to purchase this City - <br />owned property. The Board had previously recommended that the property remain with the City of <br />South Bend. Mr. Powell stated that the Division of Engineering had no use for this property, and <br />maybe could be purchased if no other City department could use the facility. Mr. Caldwell made a <br />motion to table the request, pending review by other departments. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the following traffic <br />control device was approved: <br />NEW INSTALLATION: Residential Parking Zone Signs <br />LOCATION: 2400 Block of Erskine <br />REMARKS: Requirements satisfy Municipal Code Chapter 20, Article 10 <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR BOND <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following <br />Contractor Bond be approved as follows: <br />`BOND OF CONTRACTOR <br />V Finer Finish, Inc. Approved March 15, 1999 <br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bond be approved <br />as outlined above. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following Certificate <br />of Insurance was accepted for filing: <br />Meijer, Inc. <br />Post Office Box 3280 <br />Grand Rapids, MI 49544-3280 <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEETS <br />- SOUTHFIELD DEERFIELD TRAIL PHASE II <br />- SOUTHFIELD RIDGEIRAIL. PHASE II <br />- SOUTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD REDEVELOPMENT SECTION II PHASE I <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Title Sheets for the above referred to projects were being presented <br />at this time for execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and <br />carried, the above referred to Title Sheets were approved and signed. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $2,270,561.38 and <br />,recommended approval. Additionally, Mr. Juan Manigault, Executive Director, WDS of Northern <br />Indiana, submitted two (2) lists containing claims in the amount of $227,817.85 and $141,090.56 and <br />recommended approval. Mr. Ken Szulczyk, St. Joseph Housing Consortium, submitted claims and <br />recommended approval. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the claims be approved and the reports <br />as submitted be filed. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. <br />
