O;Z�o <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 28, 2000 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:35 a.m. on Monday, August <br />28, 2000, by Board President Gary A. Gilot, with Ms. M. Catherine Roemer and Mr. Donald E. Inks <br />present. Also present was Board Attorney Frank Schaffer. <br />AGENDA ITEMS ADDED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following items were <br />added to the agenda: <br />- Opening of Bids - Abandoned Vehicles <br />- Resolution No. 95-2000 - Disposal of City -Owned Property <br />- Contractor Bond <br />- Construction Contract - West Side Partnership Center <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the minutes of the regular <br />meeting of the Board held on August 21, 2000, were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - LICENSE APPLICATION - MASSAGE ESTABLISHMENT - SMART <br />TOUCH MUSCULAR THERAPY CLINIC - 919 EAST JEFFERSON <br />Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a License <br />Application for a Massage Establishment at 919 East Jefferson, as submitted by Ms. Kara Len Turner, <br />919 East Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Gilot noted that favorable recommendations have been <br />received by the Fire Department, Police Department, Building Commissioner and the City Attorney's <br />Office. <br />There being no one present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing <br />was closed. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the License <br />Application was approved was approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - RIVER PARK DAY <br />Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a License <br />Application for a Transient Merchant License, as submitted by Ms. DiAnn Becker, River Park <br />Business Association, 3023 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the sale of arts, <br />crafts, and food at the River Park Day on September 23, 2000. Mr. Gilot stated that favorable <br />recommendations have been received by the Police Department, Fire Department, the Building <br />Commissioner and the City Attorney's office. <br />There being no one present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing <br />was closed. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the License <br />Application was approved. <br />OPENING OF QUOTATIONS - MORRIS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - BUILD -OUT OF <br />OFFICES AND REMODELING OF BOX OFFICE - PROJECT NO. 100-85 <br />Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed Quotations for <br />the above referred to project. The following Quotations were opened and read: <br />VERKLER INCORPORATED <br />4406 Technology Drive <br />South Bend, Indiana 46628 <br />Quotation was submitted by Mr. Rick Dieringer, Estimator <br />QUOTATION: Area A/Phase One $ 47,608.00 <br />Area B/Phase Two $ 74,950.00 <br />
