<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - SORIN STREET
<br />IMPROVEMENTS - ARTHUR STREET TO SUNNYSIDE STREET - PROJECT NO. 100-69
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, requested permission to advertise
<br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will
<br />construct public works improvements on East Sorin Street. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BUICK FROM COLFAX TO
<br />PACKARD - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Prince Covington, 5124 West Colfax, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to
<br />block party on August 19, 2000, from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks,
<br />seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - JACKSON ROAD BETWEEN
<br />YORK ROAD AND IRONWOOD ROAD - WORLD PULSE FESTIVAL - LESEA
<br />BROADCASTING
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Mr. Mark Durocher, LESEA Radio, 61300 South Ironwood, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the
<br />above referred to event on August 19, 2000. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms.
<br />Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - HOWARD FROM NILES TO
<br />STANFIELD - SOUTH BEND SYMPHONY PATRON PARTY
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. June Edwards, 120 West LaSalle, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to
<br />patron party, on September 17, 2000, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT BEREAN CHURCH PARADE
<br />Ms. Roemer stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Code Enforcement, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to
<br />a request as submitted by Mr. Philip Jenkins, Berean Church, 601 Colfax, South Bend, Indiana to
<br />conduct the above referred to parade, on August 13, 2000, beginning at 2:00 p.m. It was noted that
<br />the route of the parade has not been finalized at this time. The approval will be subject to
<br />determination of the parade route. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Irks and
<br />carried, the recommendation was approved.
