6, 6 REGULAR MEETING JULY 26, 2000 APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - 29TH STREET FROM HASTINGS TO RAILROAD - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Sally Hartman, 626 29"' Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 7, 2000, from 12:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - 29TH FROM HASTINGS TO RAILROAD - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. sally Hartman, 626 29"' Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 7, 2000, from 12:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - HOWARD FROM BLACK OAK TO OAK RIDGE - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. John Roos, 1730 Oak Park Drive, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 1, 2000, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLO SE STREET - FREMONT FROM BULLA TO KELLER - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. John Binion, 1634 Fremont, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 4, 2000, from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - MEADE STREET FROM HOILLAND TO WASHINGTON - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Cynthia Stewart, 102 North Meade, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 4, 2000, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - WILBER FROM PORTAGE TO MARQUETTE Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Monica Hoban, 1845 North Wilber, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 4, 2000, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Cathy Ashford, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 3, 2000, from 12:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Mr. Gilot noted that the original request was to close Elwood from Goodland to Elliott. As Elwood is a major thoroughfare, it was recommended that this request be approved subject to closing a different street in this area. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved, subject to finding an alternate closure.
