REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 28, 2000 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:40 a.m. on Monday, February <br />28, 2000, by Board President Catherine M. Roemer, with Mr. Carl P. Littrell and Mr. Don E. Inks <br />present.! Also present was Board Attorney Michelle Engel. <br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the minutes ofthe regular <br />meeting of the Board held on February 21, 2000, were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - LICENSE APPLICATION - GREAT EUROPEAN CIRCUS <br />Ms. Roemer advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a License <br />Application for a Circus, as submitted by Mr. Raymond MacMahon, 3632 Desoto Road, Sarasota, <br />Florida, to conduct the Great European Circus at 1901 South Kemble, South Bend, Indiana, on <br />February 9, 2000. Favorable recommendations were received by the Fire Department, Police <br />Department, Code Enforcement and the City Attorney's Office. <br />There being no one present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing <br />was closed. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the <br />License Application for a Circus was approved. <br />TABLE LICENSE APPLICATION FOR SCRAP METAL DEALERS/JUNK <br />DEALERS/RECYCLING OPERATIONS - SCRAP MANAGEMENT INC. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the License Application was <br />approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - FOUR (4) MORE OR LESS 20 YARD CUBIC PACKER <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to equipjment. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />DEEDS EQUIPMENT COMPANY. INC. <br />2203 North Michigan Road <br />Plymouth, Indiana 46563 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. W.E. Downey <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />m <br />Four (4) more or less (chassis ordered) <br />2001 Volvo Expeditor mdl. WX 64 Equipped <br />Pak-Mor refuse body mdl. R0320 $123,367.00 Each <br />Delivery 90-145 days after receipt of order <br />Four (4) more or less (chassis in stock) <br />2000 Volvo Xpeditor mdl. WX 64 equipped with <br />Pak-Mor refuse body mdl. R-320 $122,577.00 Each <br />Delivery 2- units 75 days after receipt of order <br />Delivery 2-units 90 days after receipt of order <br />Options: On board scales $9,400.00 Each <br />Communications to the rear $1,560.00 Each <br />VE-300 Hp Engine with 950 lbs.
