REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 17, 2000 APPROVE REQUEST OF MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. FOUNDATION FOR COMMUNITY RALLY AND MARCH Ms. Roemer advised that the Police Department, Traffic and Lighting and Park Department reviewed the above referenced request. The rally and march is to take place on Monday, January 17, 2000 from noon until 1:00 p.m., on Jefferson Boulevard. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the request approved. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion, which carried. AWARD BID - REPLACEMENT CARPET - CENTURY CENTER - PROJECT NO. A-03 Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised the Board that on January 17, 2000, bids were received and opened for the above referenced project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell recommends that the Board award the contract to Ziolkowski Construction Inc., 1005 South Lafayette Boulevard, Post Office Box 1106, South Bend, Indiana 46624, in the amount of $18,240.00. Therefore, Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid awarded as recommended. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion, which carried. FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the following certificate of insurance was accepted for filing: Herman & Goetz, Inc., with Cassady, Neeser & Brasseur as insurance company. APPROVE CONTRACTOR BOND Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following contractor bond be approved as follows: BOND OF CONTRACTOR LaMar Colley DBA Colley Concrete 22581 Johnson Road South Bend, Indiana 46515 Ms. Roemer made a motion that the bond be approved. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion, which carried. APPROVE CONTRACTOR BOND Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following contractor bond be approved as follows: BOND OF CONTRACTOR Dustin Verhaeghe DBA Verhaeghe Concrete 13 03 3 Shively Road Bremen, Indiana 46506 Ms. Roemer made a motion that the bond be approved. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion, which carried. APPROVE LICENSE AND PERMIT BOND Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following License and Permit Bond be approved as follows: LICENSE AND PERMIT BOND Jo -To -Go South Bend, Indiana Mr. Littrell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the bonds be approved.
