f);(l��`,►1 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 4, 2000 <br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION - ALLEY VACATION <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of a recommendation request for an alley vacation of <br />the north/south alley between Lafayette and Main Street. The request received favorable <br />recommendations from the City's Attorney, Economic Development, Police Traffic Department, <br />Engineering, Solid Waste, and the Area Plan Commission. Engineering and Area Plan Commission <br />has conditions to the vacation approval. They are: <br />Engineering: The petitioner must record a public easement across his property that <br />will allow northbound traffic access to another public right-of-way. <br />Area Plan Commission: Approval subject to any utility easements that may be <br />required and to an access easement for alley traffic through the South Bend Medical <br />Foundation property. <br />Mr. Littrell spoke and gave details about the vacation, in regards to its endpoint and the traffic needs <br />of the vacation. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and <br />carried, the request was referred to the City Council with the recommendations and conditions. <br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION - ALLEY VACATION <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of a recommendation request for an alley vacation of <br />the first 12 foot wide north -south alley lying west of Burns Street. The request received favorable <br />recommendations from the City's Attorney, Economic Development, Police Traffic Department, <br />Engineering, Solid Waste, and the Area Plan Commission. Engineering, Solid Waste and Area Plan <br />Commission has conditions to the vacation approval. They are: <br />Engineering:_ The petitioner must provide a means for southbound large vehicles to <br />turn from the alley to Burns Street. <br />Solid Waste: The petitioner must have a bubble at the end of the vacated alley so <br />that trucks can turn around <br />Area Plan Commission: Approval subject to any utility easements that may be <br />required. This vacation may also need to be subject to a turning easement for the <br />remaining alley corner. <br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request <br />was referred to the City Council with the recommendations and conditions. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following <br />Certificates of Insurance was accepted for filing: <br />Pollution Control Industries, Inc. & Pollution Control Industries of TN, LLC, with <br />Manta & Hurst/Mitchell Insurance <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />The following claims were submitted for approval: <br />Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $572,047.23 <br />Workforce Development Services - Two claims: $102,925.50 and $319,268.55 <br />Engineering for Fire Station 10 - $15,200.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell and seconded by Ms. Roemer, and carried, the claims received <br />separate approval. <br />
