W_&u <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />MAY 24, 2001 <br />A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, <br />2001, by Board Member Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, with Mr. Donald E. Inks present. Board <br />President Gary A. Gilot was not present. Also present was Board Attorney Frank Schaffer. <br />OPENING OF QUOTATIONS - CURB STOP BOXES - KENDALL STREET - PROJECT NO <br />100-70A <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed quotations for the above referred to project. <br />The following quotations were opened and publicly read: <br />NIEZGODSKI PLUMBING, INC. <br />Post Office Box 3096 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46619 <br />Quotation was signed by Mr. David Niezgodski <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />QUOTATION: $29,430.00 <br />SELGE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. <br />2833 South I I' Street <br />Niles, Michigan 49120 <br />Quotation was signed by Mr. John Szuba <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />QUOTATION: $46,980.00 <br />BOB FRAME PLUMBING & HEATING, INC. <br />5707 U.S. 31 South <br />South Bend, Indiana 46614 <br />Quotation was signed by Mr. David Frame, President <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />QUOTATION: Each Stop Box $658.16 <br />Materials $136.16 <br />Labor $432.00 <br />Equipment $ 50.00 <br />L. PLUMBING & HEATING <br />Post Office Box 2588 <br />South Bend, Indiana 46680 <br />Quotation was signed by Mr. Lawrence Spromberg <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />QUOTATION: $59,600.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above bids were referred <br />to the Division of Engineering. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell recommends that the Board <br />award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Niezgodski Plumbing, Post <br />Office Box 3096, South Bend, Indiana in the amount of $29,430.00. Therefore, Ms. Roemer made <br />a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />The Board of Public Works meeting continued with the Public Agenda Session at 8:10 a.m. <br />
