W_&u SPECIAL MEETING MAY 24, 2001 A special meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2001, by Board Member Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, with Mr. Donald E. Inks present. Board President Gary A. Gilot was not present. Also present was Board Attorney Frank Schaffer. OPENING OF QUOTATIONS - CURB STOP BOXES - KENDALL STREET - PROJECT NO 100-70A This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed quotations for the above referred to project. The following quotations were opened and publicly read: NIEZGODSKI PLUMBING, INC. Post Office Box 3096 South Bend, Indiana 46619 Quotation was signed by Mr. David Niezgodski Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed QUOTATION: $29,430.00 SELGE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. 2833 South I I' Street Niles, Michigan 49120 Quotation was signed by Mr. John Szuba Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed QUOTATION: $46,980.00 BOB FRAME PLUMBING & HEATING, INC. 5707 U.S. 31 South South Bend, Indiana 46614 Quotation was signed by Mr. David Frame, President Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed QUOTATION: Each Stop Box $658.16 Materials $136.16 Labor $432.00 Equipment $ 50.00 L. S. PLUMBING & HEATING Post Office Box 2588 South Bend, Indiana 46680 Quotation was signed by Mr. Lawrence Spromberg Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed QUOTATION: $59,600.00 Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above bids were referred to the Division of Engineering. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Niezgodski Plumbing, Post Office Box 3096, South Bend, Indiana in the amount of $29,430.00. Therefore, Ms. Roemer made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried. The Board of Public Works meeting continued with the Public Agenda Session at 8:10 a.m.
