<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY -
<br />INSTALLATION (REPLACEMENT) OF AWNING - 117 WEST SOUTH STREET
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department, Fire Department and the Building Commissioner for the
<br />replacement of an awning at 117 West South Street, South Bend, Indiana, as submitted by Mr. Skip
<br />McCray City Awning, 4614 Burnett Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot,
<br />seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved, subject to the following
<br />conditions: 1) the Downtown Design Group prohibits the use of a back -lit awning; 2) the awning
<br />must be eight foot six inches above the grade; and 3) issues in the right of way must be corrected,
<br />which were determined by the City Engineer.
<br />TABLE RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT AIDS WALK 2001
<br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was
<br />tabled, pending further information regarding the walk.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT NORTHWEST LITTLE LEAGUE
<br />PARADE
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Ms. Bonnie Prestin, 1623 North Iowa, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above
<br />referred to parade, on May 5, 2001, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., on the designated route as
<br />submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE
<br />LEAGUE PARADE
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Mr. Rick Kring, 803 Greenview, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred
<br />to parade, on May 5, 2001, beginning at 9:00 a.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR BOND
<br />Mr. Anthony Molnar, Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following
<br />Contractor Bond be approved as follows:

<br />McCollough-Scholten Construction Approved Effective April 23, 2001
<br />Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bond be approved as
<br />outlined above. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried.
