<br />REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 12, 2001
<br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:44 a.m. on Monday, February
<br />12, 2001, by Board President Gary A. Gilot, with Ms. M. Catherine Roemer and Mr. Donald E. Inks
<br />present. Attorney Aladean DeRose was present in the absence of Board Attorney Frank Schaffer.

<br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr
<br />added to the agenda:

<br />Inks and carried, the following items were
<br />APPROVE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the minutes of the regular
<br />meeting of the Board held on January 22, 2001, were approved.
<br />PUBLIC HEARING - LICENSE APPLICATION - TRANSIENT MERCHANT - SHIPSHEWANA
<br />ON THE ROAD
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a License
<br />Application for a Transient Merchant License, as submitted by Ms. Julie Lepper, 3 031 Harrison Road,
<br />East .Leroy, Michigan, for the sale of clothing, jewelry, crafts, household supplies and general
<br />merchandise, to be held at the Century Center on February 17 through February 18, 2001. Favorable
<br />recommendations have been received from the Police Department, Fire Department, Building
<br />Commissioner and the Legal Department.
<br />Mr. David Hicks, Century Center, was present, and recommended approval. There being no one else
<br />present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing was closed.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the License
<br />Application was approved.
<br />PUBLIC HEARING - LICENSE APPLICATION - TRANSIENT MERCHANT - MA.RKETPRO
<br />COMPUTER SHOW AND SALE
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a License
<br />Application for a Transient Merchant License, as submitted by Ms. Jeanette Winton, 7004 Armat
<br />Drive, Bethesda, Maryland, for the sale of computers and related merchandise to be held at the
<br />Century Center on February 20 and 21, March 3 and 4, April 29, May 27, June 24, August 26,
<br />September 29 and October 27 and 28, 2001. Favorable recommendations have been received from
<br />the Police Department, Fire Department, Building Commissioner and the Legal Department.
<br />Mr. David Hicks, Century Center, was present, and recommended approval. There being no one else
<br />present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing was closed.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the License
<br />Application was approved was approved.
<br />ACCEPTANCE OF BID - PROPERTY ON OLD CLEVELAND ROAD ADJACENT TO
<br />ORGANIC RESOURCES PROPERTY
<br />Mr. Gary Gilot, Director of Public Works, advised the Board that on November 15, 2000,one (1)
<br />bid was received and opened for the above referred to property. After reviewing the bid, Mr. Gilot
<br />recommends that the Board accept the bid from Holladay Group, 227 South Main Street, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $95,000.00. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried.
<br />OPENING OF BIDS - FIFTY (50) MORE OR LESS POLICE PATROL VEHICLES
<br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to vehicles. The
<br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News
<br />which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read:
