026P <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 14, 2002 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:34 a.m. on Monday, October <br />14, 2002, by Board President Gary A. Gilot, with Mr. Carl P. Littrell and Mr. Donald E. Inks present. <br />Also present was Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />AGENDA ITEM ADDED/TABLED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the following items were <br />added/tabled. <br />- Request for Emergency Authorization for Receipt of Quotes and Award Contract <br />- Opening of Quotations - Miami Village Park - Phase II - Tabled (Quotations opened October 9, <br />2002 <br />PUBLIC HEARING - LICENSE APPLICATION FOR TRANSIENT MERCHANTS - KRIS <br />KRINGLE CRAFT SHOW <br />Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning a License <br />Application for a Transient Merchant, to conduct the sale of handmade crafts on November 3 0, 2002, <br />at Michiana Christian School, South Bend, Indiana, as submitted by Ms. Elinor Tyl,1963 Piedmont <br />Way, South Bend, Indiana. Favorable recommendations were received from the Legal Department, <br />Police Department, Fire Department and the Building Department. <br />Ms. Millie Vaughn, representing Ms. Elinor Tyl, was present and recommended approval. There <br />being no one else present wishing to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing <br />was closed. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the <br />License Application was approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SHERIDAN AVENUE STREET IMPROVEMENTS - WEST <br />WASHINGTON TO WESTERN - RE -BID- PROJECT NO. 102-010 <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids fortle above referred to project. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />NILES CONCRETE SAWING & CONSTRUCTION <br />Post Office Box 1299 <br />Niles, Michigan 49120 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Daniel Kulwicki <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />h <br />BID: <br />Base Bid $103,243.00 <br />Alternate A $ 37,665.00 <br />Alternate B $ 7,343.00 <br />Alternate C $ 17,185.00 <br />Total $165,436.00 <br />L.L.
