REGULAR MEETING MAY 28, 2002 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:35 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, <br />2002, by Board President Gary A. Gilot, with Mr. Carl P. Littrell and Mr. Donald E. Inks present. <br />Also present was Board Attorney Thomas Bodnar. <br />ADD AGENDA ITEMS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the following items were <br />added to the agenda: <br />- Construction Contract - River Park Banners <br />- Claims, City of South Bend <br />PUBLIC HEARING - TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - LEEPER ART FAIR <br />Mr. Gilot advised that this was the date set for the Board's Public Hearing concerning an Application <br />for a Transient Merchant License, as submitted by Ms. Judy Ladd, 16200 Continental Drive, <br />Granger, Indiana, to conduct the sale of fine arts at Leeper Park, June 22 and 23, 2002. Favorable <br />recommendations have been received by the Building Department, Police Department, Fire <br />Department, Legal Department and the Building Commissioner. <br />Ms. Judy Ladd was present and recommended approval. There being no one else present wishing <br />to address the Board concerning this matter, the Public Hearing was closed. Therefore, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the Application for a Transient <br />Merchant License was approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - LINDEN AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS - O'BRIEN STREET TO OLIVE <br />STREET - PROJECT NO. 102-001 <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />MCINTYRE-JONES CONSTRUCTION, LLC <br />2526 West 6` Street <br />Mishawaka, Indiana 46544 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Jeffery Bradley <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />IC D <br />Base Bid $ 99,063.20 <br />Base Bid Plus All Alternates $127,032.20 <br />RIETH RILEY CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. <br />25200 State Road 23 <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Todd Gosc <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Five per cent (5%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />e <br />Base Bid $ 79,053.50 <br />Base Bid Plus All Alternates $108,534.55 <br />
