Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Contract was approved and the <br />appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond as <br />submitted were filed. <br />APPROVAL OF AUTHORIZATION FOR ENTRY UPON PUBLIC PROPERTY FOR DRILLING <br />PURPOSES - PARAMOUNT ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Authorization for Entry <br />was approved, for performing soil borings and drilling wells to monitor underwater soil pollution, <br />as performed by Paramount Environmental Services on the property located north of United Drive <br />and west of Scott Street in South Bend, Indiana. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO.55-2003 - REGARDING THE SALE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY TO <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND BUILDING CORPORATION AND REGARDING CERTAIN <br />RELATED MATTERS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the following Resolution <br />was adopted by the Board of Public Works: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 55-2003 <br />WHEREAS, the city of South Bend, Indiana ("City") has previously executed a lease <br />("Lease") whereby the City of South Bend, Indiana ("City") shall lease a new Central Fire Station <br />to be located at 1222 South Michigan Street ("Fire Station Project") and the renovations and <br />expansion of the police station located at 701 West Sample Street, ("Police Station Project"), from <br />the City of South Ben Building Corporation (`Building Corporation"); and <br />WHEREAS, construction of the Fire Station Project and the Police Station Project are to be <br />financed by the Building Corporation through the issuance of its First Mortgage Revenue Bonds of <br />2003; and <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to sell properties, upon which the Fire Station Project and the <br />Police Station Project will be located to the Building Corporation, said properties being described <br />as set forth in the Lease ("Properties"); and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works of the City ("Board") previously approved the <br />appointment of two (2) appraisers professionally engaged in making appraisals to appraise the <br />Properties. The average of which appraisals equals Twenty Million Eight Hundred Thousand and <br />00/100 Dollars ($20,800,000.00); and <br />1 <br />1 <br />
