<br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE AN ALLEY —
<br />FIRST EAST/WEST ALLEY BETWEEN LINDSEY AND VAN BUREN EAST FROM
<br />COTTAGE GROVE TO THE FIRST INTERSECTING ALLEY
<br />Mr. Gilot indicated that Mr. Jeff Nixa, 730 Cottage Grove, South Bend, Indiana, has
<br />submitted a request to vacate the above referred to alley. Mr. Gilot advised that the
<br />Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this Vacation Petition from
<br />the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, Department
<br />of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. The Fire Department
<br />noted that 726 Cottage Grove will not have access to their garage. Engineering stated
<br />that if approved, the petitioner must close the curb cut at the east end of the alley. In
<br />addition, if this alley is vacated, it be done so subject to any utility easements or access
<br />agreements that are necessary. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the Clerk send a
<br />letter to the petitioner addressing these concerns. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which
<br />carried.
<br />APPROVAL OP -LICENSE APPLICATION FOR A MASSAGE ESTABLISHMENT —
<br />224 WEST COLFAX — THE SPA AT COLFAX (RENEWAL)
<br />Mr. Gilot that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from the Fire
<br />Department, Police Department, Building Commissioner and the Legal Department for a
<br />License Application for a Massage Establishment at 224 West Colfax (The Spa at
<br />Colfax). Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot, and carried, the
<br />License Application was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF BLANKET TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE - 4H FAIR
<br />GROUND
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that an Application for a Blanket Transient Merchant License has been
<br />submitted to the Board by the St. Joseph County 4-H Fair, Inc., 5117 South Ironwood
<br />Drive, South Bend, Indiana for the year 2005. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the Transient Merchant License was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION — TO CONDUCT SUNBURST MARATHON
<br />— MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and
<br />Lighting, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in
<br />reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Molly Sullivan, Memorial Hospital, 615 North
<br />Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event, on June 4,
<br />2005, on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded
<br />by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION — TO CONDUCT MICHIANA YMCA
<br />NIGHT MOVES RUN
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and
<br />Lighting, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in
<br />reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Mike Ghyselinch, YMCA, 1201 Northside
<br />Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to event, on July 8, 2005,
<br />on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by
<br />Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION — TO CONDUCT RIVER PARK PARADE
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and
<br />Lighting, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in
<br />reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Susan Miller, River Park Business
<br />Association, Post Office Box 6695, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to
<br />event, on May 21, 2005, on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by
<br />Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVE WASTEWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT (RENEWAL,)
<br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Manuel Bueno, Pretreatment Coordinator, Division
<br />of Environmental Services, submitted the following Wastewater Discharge Permit and
<br />recommended approval:
