NOTICE TO BIDDERS <br />SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />Notice is hereby given that the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana, will <br />receive sealed bids until the hour of 9:30 a.m., local time, on September 13, 2016, in the Board of <br />Public Works Office, 227 West Jefferson Blvd., Ste. 1316, South Bend, Indiana, for the sale of <br />approximately twenty-six (26) abandoned vehicles, as is. Bids received after that time and date will <br />be returned unopened. <br />Said vehicles are located at SMS Paul's Auto Yard at 201 West Sherwood, South Bend, Indiana, and <br />are available for viewing on Friday, September 9, 2016 and Monday, September 12, 2016 prior to the <br />bid opening, between the hours of 3:45 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. <br />Bidders may bid on any or all vehicles listed on the Abandoned Vehicles for Sale form, but the <br />individual bid amounts must be listed on the line indicated on the form for each vehicle. Bids must <br />be submitted on the Department of Code Enforcement Abandoned Vehicles for Sale form, <br />which will be provided at the time of the viewing of the vehicles. All of the bidder information must <br />be completed on the form and it must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the name of the bid, <br />"Abandoned Vehicles", and the name of the bidder on the outside of the envelope. Any bids <br />received that are not on the proper form will be rejected. Terms are cash. The Board intends to <br />award the sale of the vehicles to the highest and best bidders, and the Board reserves the right to <br />reject any or all bids. <br />Successful bidders must contact the Department of Code Enforcement by telephone for an <br />appointment to pay for the vehicles they were awarded. At that time an appointment will be set up <br />for the removal of the vehicle(s) from the lot. There will be no stripping of parts on the lot and the lot <br />shall be left clean. The vehicle(s) must be removed from the storage lot within five (5) business <br />days from the date of the award letter from Code Enforcement, or a $15.00 daily storage fee <br />will be assessed for each vehicle. If vehicle(s) awarded are not removed from the premises at 201 <br />West Sherwood within fifteen (15) days of the award, the bid will be automatically rescinded. <br />Said vehicles have been acquired under the provisions of Indiana Code 9-9-1.6-1 through 9-9-1.6-19 <br />and Ordinance 6971-81 passed by the Common Council of the City of South Bend. <br />Board of Public Works <br />Linda M Martin, Clerk <br />Publish two (2) times: <br />August 19, 2016 <br />August 26, 2016 <br />
