~. <br />EXECUTNE SESSION MARCH 7, 2007 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in Executive Session on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 8:15 a.m. <br />The meeting was held in the Mayor's Conference Room, 14`" Floor, County City `.'uil~::ng, South <br />Bend, Indiana, for the purposes specified in I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1 (b) (2) (B) and (b) (6) (A). President <br />Jesusa Rodriguez and Board Members Donald Alford, Patrick Cottrell, and Juanita Dempsey were <br />present. Board Member Bruce BonDurant was not present. Also present were Board Attorney <br />Thomas Bodnar and Fire Chief Luther Taylor. Board members did not discuss any subject matter <br />other than the subject matter as specified in the Special Meeting Agenda. Martin, Clerk <br />SPECIAL MEETING MARCH 7, 2007 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in a special meeting at 8:35 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2007, <br />with President Jesusa Rodriguez and Board Members Donald Alford, Patrick D. Cottrell, and Juanita <br />Dempsey present. Board Member Bruce BonDurant was not present. Board Attorney Thomas <br />Bodnar and Fire Chief Luther Taylor were also present. <br />The meeting was held in the Board of Public Works Meeting Room, 13th Floor, County-City <br />Building, South Bend, Indiana. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />APPROVE REQUEST FOR ADMINISTRATNE LEAVE OF ABSENCE -JAMES GADACZ <br />President Rodriguez stated that the Board is in receipt of a letter from Chief Taylor stating that on <br />March 2, 2007, Captain James Gadacz was charged on two counts with Operating a Motor Vehicle <br />While Intoxicated (Class C, Misdemeanor), and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated After <br />Having Been Convicted of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated (Class D Felony) in St. <br />Joseph Superior Court (Cause #71 D02 0703 FD 00224). Chief Taylor requests the Board, pursuant <br />to IC 36-8-3-4(n), to place Captain Gadacz on Administrative Leave without pay until the disposition <br />of the criminal charges in the St. Joseph Superior court. There being no further discussion, a request <br />for a motion was made by President Rodriguez to approve the above request effective today. A <br />
