BonDurant <br />ATTEST: <br />s/Linda Martin, Clerk <br />APPROVE REQUEST FOR EXTENDED MEDICAL LEAVE -SERGEANT CHARLES <br />STOKES <br />Chief Fautz requested that the Board approve a request for an extended medical leave of forty- <br />two (42) calendar days, the maximum allowed, for Sergeant Charles Stokes. Chief Fautz noted <br />that Sergeant Stokes has exhausted all of his sick time, but needed emergency surgery and <br />remains in the hospital. Upon a motion made by Ms. Dempsey, seconded by Mr. Cottrell and <br />carried, the request was approved. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />DENY REQUEST FOR PROMOTION -ENGINEER JAMES BURKUS <br />Chief Taylor submitted a letter recommending the promotion of Engineer James Burkus to <br />Captain. Mr. BonDurant made a motion that the request for promotion of Engineer James <br />Burkus to Captain, be denied. He stated that it was a unanimous vote by the Board. Mr. Alford <br />seconded the motion, and the motion to deny the promotion was carried. <br />FILING OF MONTHLY STATISTICAL REPORT -OCTOBER 2006 <br />Chief Luther Taylor submitted to the Board the monthly report for the month of October 2006 <br />compiled by the Prevention/Inspection Bureau of the Fire Department. <br />A summary is as follows: <br />OCTOBER 2005 OCTOBER 2006 <br />STRUCTURE FIRES -Property Damage--Buildings & Contents <br />(Estimates) <br />$164,900.00 $256,100.00 <br /> INSPECTIONS <br />(Fire Prevention/Ins ection Bureau <br />399 Inspections <br />29 Re-Ins ections 413 Inspections <br />55 Re-Ins ections <br />INVESTIGATIONS - (Police/Fire Arson Bureau) <br />21 <br />Investi ations 19 <br />Investi ations <br />9 <br />Arson 7 <br />Arson <br />There being no further discussion, the Monthly Statistical Analysis was accepted and filed. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 72-2006 -HOLIDAY SCHEDULE <br />Chief Taylor stated that this was the normal Fire Department holiday schedule.
